Resumé :  Description of the Subject. The Fatick region, which includes part of the Siin area, is among the poorest in Senegal, despite significant agroecological potential. As a result, farmers' organizations are developing initiatives to enhance territorial resources, large-scale farming, and the goat farming sector to drive an endogenous development process by emphasizing the "terroir" dimension.
Objectives. This article offers a reflection on the process of constructing terroir products around the goat farming and millet sectors and their governance modalities.
Methods. The article is based on a qualitative approach, including a survey of decentralized structures responsible for promoting territorial development, umbrella organizations, and farmers' associations in the region.
Results. The analysis of the data reveals a dynamic of co-constructing development projects and reducing the vulnerability of farmers' organizations and local populations by leveraging terroir products. A governance framework focused on the valorization of agricultural products is, however, driven by stakeholders from projects and programs, in collaboration with farmers' organizations.
Conclusion. In the Fatick Region, traditional and historical narratives are mobilized by development actors to establish the legitimacy of agricultural products based on terroir identity. However, these initiatives are left to NGO actors, relegating the State and its subdivisions to a supporting role.
